As announced at the Annual Meeting on Sunday, our board is pursuing a plan to FULLY OWN our Jewish home in Naperville this year and remove one of the largest sources of financial risk that faces our Congregation, our mortgage, which costs us over $70,000 per year to service. We are very close to being mortgage-free!
We have a pledge of $100,000 of matching funds toward the Enid S. Silverman Mortgage Retirement Challenge. $50,000 of this has already been matched and donated, which allowed us to pay $100,000 to reduce the mortgage principal. When we raise the other $50,000, our community will be able to fully pay off the mortgage. If we raise these funds by the end of August, we can fully own our building this year!
We hope that every member of our community will take the opportunity to help us achieve this important milestone. Every dollar pledged takes us one step closer towards achieving this amazing milestone.
Those who are able to contribute at a higher level will be recognized in the following ways:
- Sidewalk Path Stones for contributions of $360+
- Commemoration on a permanent plaque in the lobby for contributions of $1800+
- Tormim (Supporters) = $1800 – $3600
- Shomrim (Guardians) = $3601-$9,999
- Giborim (Heroes)= $10,000+
