As the new Education Director, Rabbi Allison Peiser will oversee the religious school as well as lead youth and family tefillot throughout the year. She can’t wait to get to know our kids and families!
Rabbi Allison was born in Dallas, TX and grew up in Los Angeles, CA. She earned her BA in Near Eastern and Judaic Studies and Sociology at Brandeis University. She also spent a year studying at the University of Haifa during college and Pardes Institute of Jewish Students post-college. She graduated from the Reconstructionist Rabbinical College in 2010.
Rabbi Allison always had a passion for Jewish education and helping each Jewishly identified person find their own path and connection to Judaism. She taught religious school during college, post-college and in rabbinical school. She also worked with college students at Temple University and Franklin and Marshall College during rabbinical school. Upon graduation, she was the Campus Director of Colorado State University in Fort Collins, CO.
Rabbi Allison returned to the realm of religious education in 2014, when she became the Director of Religious School and Family Education at Temple Beth Shalom in Melrose, MA. Her most recent position was as the Temple Educator at Temple Emanu-El in Marblehead, MA.
Rabbi Allison Peiser spent a summer in Chicago as a rabbinic fellow at JCUA and attended a Jewish education conference in Naperville. She is looking forward to adding the Midwest to her list of residences this summer.
